What is Glycine powder?
Glycine powder by RawSeries is a vegan food supplement in powder form, based on Glycine.
Glycine is a characteristic amino acid, as it is the only one with an achiral configuration, i.e. it does not have L- or D- optical stereoisomeric configurations. It is a non-essential proteinogenic amino acid.

Glycine as a Sweetener

Glycine, due to its molecular configuration, being an achiral amino acid, is detected by our taste buds as a 'sweet' substance, being an amino acid, and having nothing to do with sugars, carbohydrates, or synthetic sweeteners.
It could be said that pure glycine is a 'protein sweetener' as it is a natural amino acid with a sweet taste.
The sweetening power of glycine is calculated to be 1.5 times the sweetening potency of sucrose (table sugar), so each gram of glycine used in a preparation replaces one and a half grams of sugar.
An intelligent way to use it is in combination with other sweeteners, such as sucralose, stevia or erythritol; or as a partial replacement for sugar in preparations such as cakes, or in beverages like infusions.
The sweet taste of glycine is subtle and very clean, it does not leave a metallic aftertaste like other sweeteners and its profile (both intensity and duration) of sweetness is similar to that of white sugar.

Unlike other brands, where clumping was noticeable as soon as the package was opened, this glycine remained stable as a powder throughout its entire shelf life (approximately 100 days). It dissolves very well.
