L-histidine 500mg by EssentialSeries a food supplement in vegetable capsules, based on the amino acid L-histidine obtained through a vegetable fermentation process.

L-histidine is a nutritionally indispensable amino acid, which is why our body lacks the capacity to synthesise it endogenously and must be supplied through the diet.

Vegetable amino acid

Amino acids used in food supplements are traditionally obtained from the processing of animal derivatives, usually from poultry feathers.

Obviously this presents a clear ethical conflict for people who are vegetarian or vegan.

About a decade ago, work began in Asia on techniques for obtaining isolated and purified amino acids from the fermentation of plant sources rich in sugars.

Today, this technology has advanced and allows us to obtain pure, powdered amino acids, without traces of other nutrients, from vegetables, reducing the ecological footprint and allowing their use by vegetarians.

The amino acid L-histidine has been obtained using this technique and is therefore suitable for vegans.

Vegetable capsules

This is because among food supplement companies the most widespread ingredient for the production of capsules is gelatine of bovine origin.

This is produced from the chemical treatment of collagen-rich tissues of animals, disabling the use of any such capsules by vegetarians.

Ingredients

L-histidine HCl monohydrate*, vegetable capsule [glazing agent (hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose)], bulking agent (microcrystalline cellulose), anti-caking agents (magnesium salts of fatty acids, silicon dioxide). *Produced through a vegetal fermentation process.

Warnings

Once opened, store in a cool (under 25ºC), dry and dark place. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of the smallest children.
