Milk Thistle and Berberis Aristata. Get to know them!
These two plants are the stars of the HSN Berberine 175mg & Milk Thistle (Silymarin 210mg) product. You might not have heard of them as they're not common in Europe, but let us introduce you:
The closest to us is the Cardo Mariano, scientifically Silybum marianum, a plant native to the Mediterranean but currently almost non-existent in the area. It's now naturalised all over the world, and can be found in greater quantities in Asia and central European countries where it's resistant to cold temperatures thanks to its unique composition.
Berberis aristata is the most 'exotic' as its native origin is Nepal and India and can be found in the high up in the Himalayas, thousands of metres above sea level. From the richness of the soil, it gets the nutrients required to grow their famous berberine alkaloids. This is why the 'Berberis' plant is so popular as a dietary supplement.
Both Berberis and Milk Thistle are plants that have followed a similar path:
They've gone from strictly traditional use by experts native to the plants' natural areas of origin, to scientific research by internationally renowned specialists in order to determine the exact properties of their naturally occurring components.
We bring you the best raw materials of extracts from both!
The ultimate formula
Did you know that the latest recommendation for maximum effect is to combine of Berberine and Silymarin?
This is what recent studies show:
- Fogacci, F., Grassi, D., Rizzo, M., & Cicero, A. (2019). Metabolic effect of berberine-silymarin association: A meta-analysis of randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials. Phytotherapy research : PTR, 33(4), 862–870.
They point to the co-administration of both natural plant compounds as a new must for people seeking to maximise the effectiveness of their dietary supplements.
At HSN, we study the latest scientific research and bring it directly to you!
Guaranteed Silymarin and Berberine
The plants used for the development of the product – Berberis and Milk Thistle – contain high amounts of Silymarin and Beberin.
These compounds are characteristic of the plants, which is why they exert their properties, and hence the extensive research supporting them.
The problem lies in the fact that the companies that market natural presentations of these compounds don't note the content of these compounds, only of the extract, which doesn't guarantee a specific concentration.
Our extracts have a guaranteed high concentration of these compounds of major nutritional interest:
- 80% Silymarin (milk thistle)
- 97% Berberine HCl (berberis aristata).
With an unbeatable selection of quality plant extracts!
Berberine Complex: 2 sources of maximum interest
The Berberis Aristata plant is used in the development of our dietary supplement as it's known, definitively, as nature's best source of this alkaloid.
And we reject the use of synthetic Berberine!
To provide berberine, we've used a 'complex' or mixture of two parts of the Berberis plant, in order to increase its nutritional value: the bark and the root.
Both segments of the plant are naturally rich in berberine, in addition to containing other alkaloids typical of berberis. To provide the broadest possible spectrum together with the guaranteed maximum content of 97% berberine, we've combined the two parts.
With other nutrients of interest
Did you know choline is an important, but non-essential, nutrient whose consumption helps support normal liver function?
At HSN, we do, as it's been shown in scientific studies:
- Zeisel, S. H., & da Costa, K. A. (2009). Choline: an essential nutrient for public health. Nutrition reviews, 67(11), 615–623.
This is why our product contains a sufficient quantity of the nutrient to provide its much sought-after hepatic properties.
You'll also find a high concentration of chromium and thiamine, micronutrients with synergistic action!
With all the information available on its labelling
On the Berberine 175mg & Milk Thistle (Silymarin 210mg) label, you'll find all the information you need to evaluate our dietary supplement and verify why it's the best option on the market:
You'll find all the quality aspects necessary to determine how good a herbal extract is:
- The plant part used.
- The extraction rate and native equivalence.
- Standardisation.
We show the breakdowns of the nutrients of interest, such as the base choline content of the choline bitartrate salt used.
And the elemental vitamin and mineral content, such as the net chromium content of the chromium picolinate salt used in the development of our final formula.
At HSN, we're completely transparent. Our products are unrivalled, and we want to show it to you.
Developed with no unnecessary additives
Tired of dietary supplements loaded with additives that shouldn't be there? Not at HSN!
We don't use additives for aesthetic reasons. All the ingredients (including additives) used in the product are completely safe, and we don't want to fill our formulas with compounds that don't have to be present.
For this reason, you'll not find any colouring agents that dull the contents of the capsule, or preservatives or other compounds that don't have to be present.
About the only additives you'll find are those that help make the capsule and keep it in good condition throughout the life of the supplement.
Enjoy always-transparent HSN quality.
