Ashwagandha + Magnesium Complex by HSN
Ashwagandha + Magnesium Complex by Essentialseries is a food supplement in vegetable capsules. The formula was developed by HSN’s research and development specialists using Shoden® ashwagandha extract, Albion® Minerals magnesium and pure, natural L-theanine from green tea.
The ingredients chosen for this unique formula are no coincidence. We looked not only at which compounds work best together to achieve the desired result and which doses are most suitable, but also at which ingredients lead the way internationally in terms of concentration and nutritional relevance.
Ashwagandha + Magnesium Complex is a simple yet complete product, specifically designed to make the most of the functional properties of the world’s best ashwagandha extract and magnesium bisglycinate.

- Shoden® ashwagandha - The patented ingredient with the most scientific research
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is a plant native to India. Its roots, leaves, stems and other parts have traditionally been used in infusions and tinctures for their natural content of compounds called “withanolides” and their derivatives.
Shoden® is a patented ashwagandha ingredient known for having been used in more rigorous human studies than any other. Its use in these studies shows that the scientific community recognises it as a quality ingredient that meets the standards required for research into the health properties of ashwagandha.
Some of the most relevant scientific studies carried out with this patented ingredient are:
- Lopresti, A. L., Drummond, P. D., & Smith, S. J. (2019). A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Crossover Study Examining the Hormonal and Vitality Effects of Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) in Aging, Overweight Males. American journal of men's health, 13(2), 1557988319835985.
- Lopresti, A. L., Smith, S. J., Malvi, H., & Kodgule, R. (2019). An investigation into the stress-relieving and pharmacological actions of an ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) extract: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. Medicine, 98(37), e17186.
- Deshpande, A., Irani, N., Balkrishnan, R., & Benny, I. R. (2020). A randomized, double blind, placebo controlled study to evaluate the effects of ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) extract on sleep quality in healthy adults. Sleep medicine, 72, 28–36.
Shoden® has more than 11 international studies supporting its properties.
- Maximum quality control and safety from Arjuna
Arjuna is an Indian company that has worked towards a clear vision since 1989:
To become the most recognised organisation for improving lives worldwide through innovative natural solutions, envisioning a world where Mother Nature and sustainable development work together to improve human wellbeing.
In Arjuna’s own words. The company crowned its developments with the creation of the patented ingredient Shoden®, known and recognised internationally as one of the best ashwagandha extracts available.
Arjuna carefully manages the plant’s growing and harvesting conditions to ensure sustainable production and controlled extraction. Its extract provides a minimum of 35 % withanolide glycosides, its main bioactive compounds, as measured by HPLC (the definitive method for determining the compound content of an extract, with no margin of error).
What’s more, Arjuna’s ashwagandha is protected by a unique system called BIPS, or the “Bioactive Ingredients Protection System”. This allows Arjuna to ensure that the withanolides in its ashwagandha are protected and fully bioavailable.
- Albion® Minerals - “A legacy of genuine, complete chelation”
Albion® Minerals is the patented ingredient featuring a unique chelation system developed by Balchem, in which its minerals undergo complete chelation.
Beyond the industrial process involved, this significantly increases bioavailability. That’s why Albion® Minerals has become an international benchmark for highly bioavailable mineral salts that provide important elements for human nutrition.
- Balchem: building better minerals - Albion® Minerals
Founded in 1967, Balchem has a long history of developing unique technologies and applications for human nutrition. It has continued to grow ever since and now has more than 1300 employees worldwide, working actively to improve its flagship patented ingredient: Albion® Minerals.
Albion® Minerals offers excellent tolerability and a bioavailable option for daily use. Balchem combines science and patented technology to create an organic molecule that the human body can absorb easily. These special forms are mineral amino acid chelates, used in food supplements to provide complete mineral nutrition.
In their ordinary form, minerals are inorganic elements that the body finds difficult to absorb. Balchem does the work for the body in advance by producing natural chelates that can be absorbed easily.
- Theanine: pure and natural - Don’t settle for less
Theanine is an amino acid naturally found in green tea leaves. It is particularly valued for its nutritional characteristics, including its complete lack of stimulant effects.
For this to be the case, the theanine must be sufficiently purified from green tea leaves, which naturally contain theine. Ideally, natural theanine is preferable to synthetic theanine, as it has a significant history of consumption.
Our theanine is natural and pure, so you can enjoy the best as part of your daily diet.
Why take ashwagandha and magnesium together?
Ashwagandha + Magnesium Complex brings together the properties of ashwagandha and magnesium’s contribution to the normal functioning of the nervous system in a single food supplement for nighttime use.
To do this, we chose Shoden® ashwagandha extract, standardised to 35 % withanolide glycosides, and Albion® Minerals magnesium in the form of chelated magnesium bisglycinate. That way, you know both the concentration of the extract’s characteristic compounds and the mineral form used in our formula.
Ashwagandha has the following properties:
- Improves the body’s resistance to stress.
- Helps maintain emotional stability.
- Helps you fall asleep.
Magnesium, meanwhile, contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system, completing the formula with a nutritional function that complements the properties of ashwagandha.
Standardised ashwagandha extract and chelated magnesium bisglycinate: two ingredients chosen for your nighttime routine.
We recommend taking Ashwagandha + Magnesium Complex at night, after dinner, following the directions for use on the label.
