A selection of supplements specifically for your Keto diet

The keto diet has gained relevance in recent years.

HSN keeps shaking up the European supplement market with the launch of its KetoSeries range, designed specifically for people following ketogenic diets who want products to complement their nutrition without messing with their nutritional goals.

Here are some of the top products you’ll find in this line, what they contain, and why they’re used:

The Keto Diet is trending

You just have to check out the trend graph showing the search interest for the term “keto diet” in Spain.

KetoBHB + Caffeine

Keto BHB + Caffeine is a classic.

Probably the most basic supplement in a ketogenic diet alongside Keto Whey Protein.

Keto BHB is a supplement based on ketone salts (BHB = Beta-Hydroxybutyrate) with natural caffeine.

Ketones have many uses: from saving energy substrates to possible neurogenesis (creation of new nerve endings). To learn more about the benefits of ketones, I recommend checking out my article.

That’s why they’ve been used for several years in the Americas, but in Europe, especially Spain, they’re not very widespread. The mechanism of action of this supplement is clear:

Increase the bioavailability of ketones (BHB) in the blood, so they can be used as an easily degradable energy substrate and supply ATP to muscle cells to keep performance at its peak, even when glucose is limited.

Ketones cause a transient spike, a “false ketosis,” during training that athletes can use as an energy source.

That’s why it’s a pre-workout.

Plus, the caffeine addition helps with:

  • Lowering perceived effort during physical exercise;
  • It can boost sports performance in various disciplines;
  • Not to mention the indirect mechanisms of increased lipolysis that promote fat mobilization and the creation of more ketone bodies endogenously.

Of course, caffeine also helps with improving focus and promoting alertness, making KetoBHB + Caffeine the perfect supplement for:

  • Athletes as a pre-workout.
  • Students during work or study sessions.

Ketocoffee + Collagen

Ketocoffee + Collagen is a more “foodie” supplement, mostly used by keto lovers looking for a high-fat “bulletproof” style coffee.

It’s also formulated based on the popular practice of adding collagen to coffee, since it’s a 0% carb protein that handles heat well due to its high thermal denaturation point and low susceptibility to changes in taste, smell, texture, etc., in hot drinks.

Basically, a delicious instant coffee high in fats and collagen.

Its formula includes: Bovine collagen + Instant coffee + Microencapsulated MCT oil.

Bonus! This supplement isn’t sweetened because after surveying a large group of keto athletes, a big percentage preferred the natural coffee flavor.

If you prefer a creamier, sweeter touch, don’t miss Keto Creamer:

A creamer is a product used to improve the texture of coffee or tea, making it thicker and giving it a milky look and taste without containing milk.

Keto Creamer contains:

  • MCT oil.
  • Ghee (clarified butter) powder along with CLA to add Omega-6 fatty acids, and Erythritol as a sweetener.

This blend textures the drink in a way that reminds you of a milk-based beverage, but it’s high in medium-chain fatty acids and perfectly keto-friendly thanks to its minimal carb content.

Keto Whey Protein

Keto Whey Protein is a protein made specifically for keto diets.

How so?

We used grass-fed whey protein isolate from cows fed on pasture, top quality thanks to its higher content of CLA and nutritionally interesting fatty acids.

This whey has been processed using mechanical techniques, keeping favorable temperature and acid-base balance conditions to prevent damage to the protein’s nutritional and organoleptic properties (known as denaturation).

Cross-Flow System

Parallel membrane mechanical filtration system (Cross-Flow).

The technique used for the protein isolate involves ultrafiltration followed by microfiltration, with two different pore sizes acting as filters.

The product contains a significant fraction of Medium Chain Triglyceride Oil from coconut oil, balancing its nutritional profile by providing:

  • 71% protein.
  • 15% fat

A keto protein enriched with DigeZyme®, an enzyme complex designed to help digest nutrients:

An excellent food prep to complement the diet of an athlete following keto and looking for a protein that fits the logical proportions of this nutritional approach.

Keto Shred

Keto Shred is a supplement aimed at supporting fat loss.

Its formula is very complete, based on beta-hydroxybutyrate salts (exogenous ketones) as an energy source usable by the nervous system:

Ketone metabolism

Ketone metabolism in the liver-vascular system-brain axis.

It also contains a combo of two of the most important ingredients with thermogenic and lipotropic properties:

  • Caffeine.
  • Green Tea Extract.
Capsimax Cayenne Extract

It also contains Cayenne extract under the Capsimax™ patent.

The high presence of its active compound – capsaicinoids – increases calorie burn and, therefore, higher calorie consumption.

An ideal supplement for athletes, sportspeople, or anyone looking to take it up a notch during the cutting phase.
