How to make: Protein Sponge Cake Recipe

- Put the egg whites, oats or weetabix, and whey protein in a blender.
- Blend until everything is well combined. Add the cinnamon and the nuts and stir with a spoon.
- Pour all the blend in a bowl that is suitable for microwaves. Heat the mixture for 5-8 minutes at maximum power. This may vary depending on the microwave, so set the timer to 5 minutes and use a knife to determine if the sponge cake is properly cooked. If it is not, keep heating it for periods of 2 minutes and keep checking it.
- Once it is ready, you can eat it while it is still hot or let it cool and eat it later. In the case of the example, what I usually do is: I cut the sponge cake in two halves, and I eat one for breakfast and another as an afternoon snack.
- Those who have a sweet tooth can top it with a little bit of honey, which is perfectly fine after a demanding workout. Cream cheese is also a great choice.
