HSN factory renews its IFS Food certification by improving its Higher Level score to 96.90%

We’ve done it again! And even with a better rating of excellence! We have renewed the IFS Food certification of our manufacturing plant for 2023. And that excellence within an audit without prior warning by the assessor Bureau Veritas, applied to food manufacturers. HSN & IFS Food 2023: Higher Level to 96.90%

IFS Food 2023

IFS Food (International Featured Standards) are the international quality standards recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) applied to food manufacturers. These standards are assessed by Bureau Veritas, which awards the IFS Food certificate.

In this sense, our HSN factory has managed to renew for the second consecutive year the certificate obtained in 2021 and renewed in 2022, when it achieved the Higher Level rating after scoring 95.55%.

In 2023, our plant has improved this rating (96.90%) in an unannounced audit, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to food safety and relevant procedures.

Verification without prior warning

GFSI introduced unannounced audits as mandatory for all certification standards, including IFS Food, in 2021.

This is intended to ensure that all certified companies consider the requirements of food safety and quality standards in their day-to-day business.

In this way, audited companies will have to demonstrate and guarantee a food safety culture and be prepared to be audited at any time, increasing the confidence of their work team, systems, and procedures.

Higher Level Rating: 96.90%

Following this assessment, we have further increased our level of excellence (Higher Level) already achieved in 2022 to 96.90%.

In this way, HSN shows our high commitment to safety and all accredited procedures.

The certificate recognises the excellence of the brand in the scope of the HSN factory, which corresponds to the following areas:

Mixing of food supplements and food formulas, in powder format, and packaging in plastic bags and cans.
Encapsulation or compression of food supplements, packaged in plastic bottles.
Packaging of food supplements, in softgel format, in plastic bottles.

Evowhey Protein 2.0, Collagen Super Beauty, Omega-3 or Smart Caffeine are some of the more than 2,500 HSN products that we manufacture in our facilities under the Higher Level procedures of the IFS Food certification.

Other quality and safety certificates renewed in 2023

In addition to the renewal of the IFS Food declaration, the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certificates, also awarded by Bureau Veritas to the HSN factory, will be renewed in 2023.

Why does HSN renew its certifications every year?

In 2021, HSN became the first brand in the sports nutrition and health food sector in Spain with its own factory to obtain the IFS Food. In addition to this, there is the wide variety of different products that our HSN plant produces at our facilities in Granada.

Certificates related to the manufacture of food and food supplements are validated every year. In fact, all certifications are public. We, demonstrating our transparency, always have on HSN the status of the certifications.
