Evopept 2.0 is the flavoured formula of PeptoPro®
Evopept 2.0 from SportSeries is a highly hydrolysed casein protein with flavour and sweetener, based on a specifically registered patent by a Dutch company called DSM, under the name PeptoPro®.
Evopept 2.0 is simply the pure raw material of PeptoPro®, with flavours developed by HSN’s specialised flavourists. As a hydrolysed casein, the patent’s natural taste is quite intense—a mix of salty, acidic, and bitter notes—which we have carefully adjusted with our flavouring, achieving excellent flavours that let you truly enjoy PeptoPro®.
Evopept 2.0 is one of the most specialised proteins you can take. Thanks to its high level of hydrolysis, it is perfect for when you need an ultra-fast and ultra-light protein intake.
PeptoPro® is a next-generation protein
OPA 20% – One of the most hydrolysed proteins in the world
Hydrolysed proteins are analysed using the OPA (ortho-phthalaldehyde) method, a commonly used technique to quantify free amino acids and peptides in hydrolysed protein samples. OPA is a reagent that reacts with the primary amino groups of amino acids and peptides to form a fluorescent complex, allowing their detection and quantification.
OPA analysis is one of the best methods to determine protein hydrolysis. Many market proteins use hydrolysis quantification methods that overestimate percentages, but this is not the case with OPA.
The minimum 20% hydrolysis level established in PeptoPro® development means that Evopept 2.0 has a real 20% hydrolysis content. Moreover, its hydrolysed protein content has a highly controlled profile.
Not all hydrolysed proteins are the same, so it is crucial to monitor the factors that determine hydrolysis quality. DSM is a specialist in this area and has put its greatest efforts into PeptoPro®:
- It has a high content of dipeptides and tripeptides.
- Contains few free amino acids.
- Contains few polypeptides as part of the hydrolysis.
- Has a lower generated salt content than other hydrolysates.
These are all quality characteristics when it comes to hydrolysed proteins, making PeptoPro® an unrivalled choice.
Source: Casein – High nutritional quality and complete amino acid profile
PeptoPro® is a patented protein based on casein. As a result, its hydrolysis outcome is unique to this specific patent. Additionally, it delivers superior results due to the native characteristics of casein as a protein:
- It has a high protein content.
- Its proteins have a high biological value.
- Its protein digestibility is good, although slow, which is corrected by hydrolysis.
- It has a complete and high-quality amino acid composition.
A protein that is not only excellent due to its hydrolysis but also because of its high-quality raw material.
Low free amino acid content – High peptide density
The low presence of free amino acids in hydrolysed protein is a positive indicator for several reasons:
- Indicates a controlled hydrolysis process: during hydrolysis, proteins break down into smaller peptides and free amino acids. Well-hydrolysed protein mainly breaks down into peptides rather than free amino acids. A low presence of free amino acids suggests that hydrolysis has been carried out in a controlled and efficient manner, obtaining primarily peptides of specific sizes rather than individual amino acids.
- Better absorption and utilisation: peptides have certain advantages over free amino acids in terms of absorption and utilisation by the body. Peptides can be absorbed more effectively than free amino acids.
- Product stability: peptides tend to be more stable than free amino acids during storage and processing. Free amino acids are more prone to degradation or unwanted reactions during storage.
PeptoPro® is a patent that ensures high peptide density and a low presence of free amino acids, reflecting the meticulous quality control applied to the hydrolysis process.

This, combined with its history of quality and reliability, makes it a key reference in nutrition and innovation.
For this reason, after evaluating the technical documentation and scientific research conducted on its registered highly hydrolysed casein brand, we have chosen PeptoPro®, confident that we are selecting the best high-quality hydrolysed protein raw material.
Delicious flavours – Don’t believe it? Try them!
The only real drawback of PeptoPro® as a raw material is its taste. Being a casein that is so highly hydrolysed, PeptoPro® has a characteristically intense flavour: acidic, bitter, and salty. This presents a significant challenge for companies attempting to create flavoured versions of PeptoPro®:
They struggle to develop good flavours, as PeptoPro® doesn’t behave like whey protein, where simply adding an aroma generally results in a pleasant taste. With PeptoPro®, flavour development requires much more effort, and many brands fail due to the difficulty involved.
This is completely understandable, as the raw material itself is challenging to flavour effectively. We faced this same challenge. In fact, long-time customers will remember that for a long time, the only available flavour of Evopept 2.0 was 'Tropical'.
However, through rigorous testing and research, we have successfully developed a wider range of flavours that taste genuinely good. This will be a total surprise to those accustomed to consuming flavoured PeptoPro® from other brands, as Evopept 2.0 is simply unrivalled.
Furthermore, these flavours weren’t developed by merely adding random flavourings and sweeteners, but rather through careful formulation and the selection of the best raw materials to achieve a result that is unmatched in the market.
You’ve never tried a PeptoPro® like Evopept 2.0 before.
The ideal protein during training
PeptoPro® is considered an ideal protein for use during training due to its rapid absorption.
This protein is a hydrolysed form of casein, meaning it has been pre-digested into smaller peptides. As a result, the amino acids are almost immediately available to the body, ensuring a rapid supply of protein. This is particularly sought after by athletes who constantly look for ways to deliver fast-absorbing proteins during their workouts.
Thanks to its rapid absorption, PeptoPro® is perfect for athletes who experience digestive discomfort when consuming food during meals—something that can be an issue with other types of protein during intense exercise. Its amino acid profile is complete, meaning it provides all essential amino acids, making it a preferred choice over isolated EAA supplements. This combination of fast amino acid availability and easy digestion makes PeptoPro an excellent option for athletes during training.
Great solubility – How to prepare Evopept 2.0
Evopept 2.0, thanks to the high hydrolysis of PeptoPro®, has excellent solubility. In fact, the recommendation is not to shake the mixture like with other proteins, as due to adsorption principles, shaking can trap air in the hydrolysed protein structures, causing excessive foaming.
The ideal way to mix the protein is by stirring it with a spoon if you’re at home preparing it calmly. If you’re training, simply swirling the shaker gently is enough to achieve a 100% homogeneous drink.
Q&A – Got questions? We’ve got answers!
I like RAW products. Should I buy it unflavoured?
You can buy PeptoPro® 100% raw and unflavoured, available here.
However, keep in mind that we’ve already mentioned the intense natural taste of this protein. Unless you are certain this is what you want, we generally recommend Evopept 2.0 with flavour, as it is much more enjoyable to consume than the unflavoured version.
My Evopept 2.0 foams up—Is that a problem?
No.
The foam is generated due to agitation, a process known as 'adsorption':
During shaking, proteins move to the surface of the liquid, where they align at the interface and stabilise the air bubbles formed. This stabilisation occurs because proteins act as surfactants, reducing the surface tension of water and creating a barrier around the bubbles, preventing them from breaking easily. This results in foam formation.
This effect is more noticeable in hydrolysed proteins. Since Evopept 2.0 is one of the most extensively hydrolysed proteins available, foam formation is completely normal and can be minimised by reducing the amount of air introduced into the mix—meaning, avoid excessive shaking.
Why is the recommended serving size so small?
If you check the product label, the standard serving size is 13g. If you regularly consume protein powders, this might seem 'small'.
PeptoPro® is a very specific protein, functioning more like amino acids than a typical protein powder. A standard dose for intra-workout use—often combined with next-generation carbohydrates such as Cluster Dextrin or Palatinose—is more than enough.
Can I take more than 13g? What about multiple shakes per day?
Yes, Evopept 2.0, despite being a highly 'specific' protein, is still a protein. You are free to adjust the amount to your needs, both per shake and in terms of how many shakes you take daily.
There is no 'daily dose'—consumption should be adjusted according to individual user requirements.

Prime quality

It is the best possible choice for both intra-workout and post-workout, the tropical flavor is smooth and rich. Being of higher quality and going directly into the bloodstream by being pre-digested it is normal that it is somewhat more expensive, if it were somewhat cheaper it would be my only peri-workout option.

Cherry flavor, for a casein hydrosylate (Pepto Pro) the taste is still really good. But you buy the product because of the effect. I always buy it here because it's rare to find someone who sells Pepto Pro, especially at such a good price.

This protein is really very effective, the cherry flavor is fantasy, more expensive than the others but for once in a while.... It can be mixed with amylopectin, if you could get a larger format but more adjusted price would be great!
