Kelp Powder 227g by Now Foods is a food supplement based on iodine and kelp (Laminaria digitata) powder.
Kelp is a brown or greenish seaweed with large leaves found in the colder waters of the oceans.
Kelp is a mixture of the genera Ascophylum and Laminaria. These algae have a high iodine content.
As they are not located at depth, they absorb the sunlight required for photosynthesis. However, some are brownish in colour because they develop in somewhat deeper areas.

It was recommended to me by my Internal Medicine doctor. I have hypothyroidism and I take Eutirox 25 mg. In order not to increase the dose, my doctor recommended me to take a minimum dose of Kelp (be careful not to overdose), plus Zn and Selenium and other things. It comes in large quantities and lasts a lot. It comes with a measuring spoon. Its taste is not unpleasant, it is salty, sea flavor.

Easy to drink. I sprinkle it on salads or vegetables so the taste is not even noticeable. It is still too early to say how effective it is. I consume it for the extra iodine.

Not recommended for those who do not tolerate unpleasant flavors, being in powder form it dissolves poorly and sticks to the palate. I recommend more in capsules but very good supplement.
