Salix alba, known as white willow, is a tree from the salicaceae family. It typically grows in central and southern Europe, in Mediterranean climates due to its favourable conditions, and also in northern Africa and western Asia. Native Americans and other traditional cultures used white willow infusions and preparations for its natural salicin content.

High extraction ratio - 34 times more concentrated extract

Plant extracts are prepared using procedures that allow the natural part of the plant to be concentrated by X percent.

The extraction ratio increases the natural concentration of the plant’s compounds per unit of powder.

Typically, plant extracts have a variable concentration, with white willow usually ranging from a 3-12:1 extraction ratio.

Our white willow extract is not only prepared using traditional extraction methods that are gentle on the raw material and its native compounds, but it also offers the most concentrated presentation with no less than 34 times the natural concentration of Salix alba bark.

Bark extract - The most concentrated part in salicinates

While white willow (Salix alba) is often referred to as the plant with the highest natural salicin content, it is actually the bark that holds this concentration.
