Complete natural amino acid profile - No additives
The amino acid profile measures the amino acid content of a specific protein. It’s common to find lower quality (nutritionally) proteins, or those marketed by brands less committed to quality processes, that don’t break down the amino acid content of their proteins.
Also, pay attention because many brands use a 'generic amino acid table' to represent the amino acid profile of all flavors of the same protein, across all production batches. This is because they don’t actually measure their amino acids, but use average values from public domain and don’t adjust for variations between batches or flavors.

In the international market, especially in the US, it became trendy about a decade ago to add amino acids to proteins, since protein content is measured by nitrogen content, and amino acids are nitrogen compounds, so they artificially 'boosted' the protein content. This isn’t illegal but is considered misleading, a kind of deception regarding protein quality.
At HSN we’ve rejected this practice since our foundation, even when many famous international brands did it and sold it as a 'superior protein' with added amino acids; it’s just a false way to increase protein content. WPI 90% - High protein content raw material
The raw material of Evolate 2.0 is whey protein isolate (Whey Protein Isolate) with 90% protein.
This means the protein raw material base used to prepare Evolate 2.0 flavors provides around 90 g of protein per 100 g of product.
And why don’t all Evolate flavors have this content?
The protein content of Evolate 2.0 flavors ranges from 75 g/100 g for double chocolate flavor, up to 90 g/100 g for flavors like white chocolate and lemon. These variations come from other ingredients besides the protein itself used to make the flavor. In fact, chocolate flavors with cocoa have the 'lowest' protein content because cocoa makes up a considerable % of the formula: Double Chocolate has up to 15 g less protein per 100 g of product because it contains a large amount of pure cocoa to achieve its intense and characteristic flavor that has won over many of our Evolate-lovers; while flavors like Vanilla barely impact the protein content of the base raw material because they need only a small amount of aroma and nothing else, which hardly affects the total composition.
However, despite these variations, different flavors of a nutritionally quality protein like Evolate 2.0 are considered equally quality options, with protein content variation impact as small as 1–5 g per shake. HSN specialists don’t recommend choosing flavor based on protein content, but on personal preference for the flavor you like most, since all are equivalent in nutritional quality.

Proteins in powder (as well as protein-rich foods) have different analytical methods to control protein quality, such as biological value or PDCAAS, among the most notable.
These protein quality markers have been established as references by health and consumer entities to assess how nutritionally good a protein is, based on the amount of nitrogen the body retains (and thus uses), and amino acid content.

Evolate 2.0 is food in powder form, it’s just a food treated to concentrate its protein content, so it’s practically pure protein. So... when’s the best time to eat a chicken breast? Seems like a weird question, right? The best time is whenever you want to eat it. Well, it’s the same with Evolate 2.0, you can take it anytime you want to add a good source of dietary protein.
The advantage of Evolate 2.0 and other protein powders is that they’re super practical, being instant powder, you can carry them in a shaker, and just by adding water, you can quickly, cleanly, practically, and deliciously consume a considerable amount of protein for your diet; no need to carry containers or deal with heavy digestion.

Can I take more than one scoop of Evolate 2.0 per shake? And more than one shake a day?
Yes, to both questions.
It’s common for our nutrinfo experts and customer service team to get this question. We’re always ready to help you with whatever you need! But this one has an easy answer.
Evolate 2.0, like other protein powders, as we said before: Food. So...
Would you ask if you can only eat 100 g of beef? Or if you can eat fish more than once a day?
These questions don’t make sense, right? The answer would always be 'Yes.' and 'Depends on...' your needs, goals, or what’s in the fridge. Evolate 2.0 works the same way, many still believe that taking more than 30 g of protein powder per shake means some won’t be absorbed, but this is one of the biggest nutrition myths, protein is absorbed, no matter how much you consume, and it may take more or less time to absorb. Of course, if you’re a big person with significant body weight, or just trained fasted, you need more protein than a smaller person or someone with different goals or scenarios, and you can put 30, 40, 60 g or whatever you need in your shake.
And as food, you can have several shakes a day, of course, as needed; in fact, experienced athletes use protein powders as another meal in their diet, adapting it to their needs, and carrying several protein shakes to take when out or when they need a quick and convenient protein boost without hassle.

How to prepare Evolate 2.0? What do I need?
Water and a mixer, can’t get easier, right?
From here, you can get creative to make your best Evolate shake. For example: You can swap water for other drinks. If you’re having strawberry or raspberry Evolate, mix it with natural red fruit juice; if chocolate or caramel, mix with milk for a thicker, tastier shake; or with plant-based drink for coconut Evolate, to get a sweet fruity plant-based shake.
To get a smooth shake, usually a cup and spoon aren’t enough, since protein, even instant, isn’t like instant cocoa or sugar, it doesn’t mix that easily. Some use blenders with mixing cups, but it’s not necessary; usually the most practical, versatile, and useful tool to prepare your shakes is a shaker like our Shaker with mixing ball HSN We Are Nutrition!
Can I take it with milk or plant-based drink? Does it change anything?
You can mix Evolate 2.0 with any drink you prefer, there’s really no problem mixing it with any drink you enjoy, obviously some combos don’t taste great, like coffee flavor with orange juice, which tastes weird and most people don’t like, but there’s no incompatibility.
Since Evolate flavors have a strong taste profile, it’s usually recommended to mix with neutral-tasting drinks, like water, milk, or plant-based drinks.
However, not everyone prepares it that way; many people make Cold Brew and mix Evolate 2.0 with a cocoa or vanilla flavor in a shaker, making a kind of cold, milky, protein-packed Caffè Latte; a real treat, easy to make, perfect with ice in summer. What do you think?
The nutritional characteristics Evolate provides don’t change depending on the liquid you mix it with; it’s not absorbed more, less, faster, or slower.
Is it cooking-friendly? Does heating reduce effectiveness?
You can cook recipes with Evolate 2.0, from simple preparations like smoothies to more complex ones like cakes or pancakes. It’s hard to integrate Evolate’s sweet flavor into savory recipes, but if you get the chance, go ahead and experiment!
Using proteins for cooking has always raised doubts due to the concept of denaturation. Protein denaturation is a normal process that doesn’t affect the quality or nutritional effects of proteins consumed in the diet. It only affects the biological relevance of intact protein, which doesn’t matter nutritionally since our gut absorbs only amino acids and small peptides.
In other words, you don’t need to worry about the effects of heating protein and its chemical changes, it remains just as bioavailable.
One tip: If you mix Evolate 2.0 in very hot liquid, near boiling, you cause thermal damage to the powder that makes it lose its ability to mix, ruining protein solubility, so we recommend mixing it with cold, warm, or hot liquids, but not boiling to avoid this.
What’s the raw material of Evolate 2.0?
Usually, and whenever they can supply the quantities we need for production, we use Fonterra WPI.
We’ve been working for years with Fonterra raw materials in our whey proteins, we’re big clients of this dairy producer, chosen for proteins like our Evolate or Evowhey because their quality is excellent, plus the nutritional and organoleptic uniformity of their batches is highly controlled; and because they care for their farms, supporting local small farmers and animal welfare. In fact, they guarantee the grass-fed status of the milk used to make our proteins.
Fonterra protein can come from plants in Lithuania, UK, or the Netherlands, and there are some differences you can notice in the raw material, but no significant nutritional relevance since it’s always the same raw material from the same company; but being a natural, low-processed product, you might notice differences between raw materials from different origins.
This is why if you buy one Evolate 2.0 flavor from one batch today, and a year later buy another batch of the same product made with the same raw material but from a different origin, you might notice the powder feels different: denser or more compact; or the opposite, looser or lighter; this isn’t relevant since all raw material receptions go through our quality controls in tasting, documentation, and evaluation by R&D experts, so all Evolate batches always have the same quality: Excellent.
The phrase 'whenever they can supply the quantities we need for production' refers to the possibility that at some point we ask Fonterra for raw material and they can’t supply, due to distribution from their plants. This happens because as producers, we make large Evolate batches and buy tons of raw material; small brands making few kg don’t face this, but we’ve been told by Fonterra they don’t have the quantity we need available, impossible.
In these cases, we have other certified alternative suppliers approved by our quality department, who provide nutritionally and organoleptically equivalent raw material to the usual Fonterra one. We don’t innovate here; we have a few dairy producers meeting our quality standards, and when we need more raw material, we turn to them, always European origin.

Do flavors containing 'instant coffee' have caffeine?
Coffee with milk, and coffee and caramel flavors contain some caffeine, from the soluble coffee used to get the Evolate 2.0 coffee flavor.
The reason for not using decaf coffee in flavors is that it doesn’t achieve the intensity we want; the instant coffee we use is very high quality, with an American roast that gives delicious notes in the coffee bean. The caffeine content of our instant coffee isn’t high and we don’t aim to add caffeine to our coffee-flavored proteins, the caffeine in an Evolate coffee shake is barely equivalent to a few ounces of dark chocolate.
Flavors without coffee, of course, don’t have this characteristic. Evolate 2.0 is a stimulant-free protein as such.
What does 'CFM' mean in Evolate 2.0?
Cross-Flow Microfiltration.
It’s the method to obtain the isolate protein, filtering it through a cross-flow membrane system with a specific micropore size that allows obtaining the naturally present protein in milk whey from cows.
Evolate 2.0 is CFM whey protein isolate.
Can I mix Evolate and Creatine in the same shake?
Yes, they’re totally compatible.
Can I use Evolate with amino acids? Do I have to?
Yes. Evolate 2.0 can be mixed the same day, same dose, and same shake with any isolated amino acid.
It’s not necessary to combine them, unless you want the specific nutritional effects of a certain amino acid (for example, beta-alanine). The amino acid content of Evolate 2.0 is nutritionally complete and you don’t need to add BCAAs, EAAs, or Glutamine (for example) to enrich it.
Why doesn’t Evolate have just one ingredient?
Because it wouldn’t have flavor.
To develop flavors we need to add ingredients that give taste, like coffee or cocoa; aromas and sweeteners; without these, it’s impossible to get a flavored Evolate.
Also, the raw material as it arrives isn’t 'just one ingredient' either, since it contains lecithins, natural plant phospholipids that allow the protein to mix with a shaker.
Evolate 2.0 is an 'instant' protein; without lecithins it would be a 'regular' protein, and believe us... mixing a regular protein in a shake is a huge challenge, so you’ll find sunflower lecithin as an emulsifier in Evolate and its unflavored version, because it allows quick and easy mixing in water or milk.
Are there unflavored options?
You can use 100% Whey Protein Isolate from our RawSeries brand to get the same protein as Evolate 2.0 but unflavored, literally the same raw material we use in Evolate 2.0, but packaged before developing our own flavors.
