What is Inulin Powder?
Inulin Powder by RawSeries is a vegan food supplement in powdered form, Inulin from Cichorium intybus roots.
Inulin is a fructan with a linear structure and a 'long' chain. A fructan is a compound characterised by fructose units linked together in a configuration that prevents them from being degraded in the stomach, which is why they are categorised as 'dietary fibre'.
This food supplement is 100% suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets.
Why to take Inulin powder?
Na HSN we have developed a product made from 100% pure inulin, extracted from chicory roots, using processes that do not damage the structure of the polymer, allowing it to retain all the organoleptic properties of fructans.
Culinary
Inulin is used as a texturiser, bulking agent and thickener. Many people use it in their recipes for these properties.
More specifically, inulin acts as a mimetic of fat sources added to baked goods (such as cakes and biscuits), increasing the softness of the food in the mouth, making it creamier.
Furthermore, inulin is sweet, albeit in a limited form. It is 3 times less sweet than sugar, but this is the reason why it also serves as a substitute for sugar in your recipes; it allows you to add less sugar, maintaining the taste and texture properties it provides, but with a lower calorie content.
Why buy Inulin in HSN?
100% Inulin
Many supplements on the market that call themselves 'Inulin' contain a mixture of plant fibres in their composition, which can be found in their ingredient lists.
Each fibre has its own characteristic properties, due to its physicochemical structure, so not all fibres are the same.
Inulin powder by RawSeries contains only Inulin, 100%, with no other ingredients in its composition.
Vegetable
Our product has been developed from chicory root.
The roots are chopped and crushed to obtain chicory root juice, which is then purified by filtering and drying to obtain micronised inulin.
A 100% natural food supplement made from chicory root.
Lightly sweet
During the processing of inulin, it has not undergone hydrolysis processes to break down its fructose polymers.
HSN's Inulin powder has a less sweet taste than other inulins on the market due to its greater structural complexity, which means that the fibres remain intact, without releasing sugars.
