Retinyl acetate is a retinoic acid, an ester of retinol, stable under ambient conditions.

Stable vitamin A, guaranteed concentration

'Pure' vitamin A comes in the form of retinol. In fact, many formulas for the skin are developed with retinol and other retinoids.

Why don't we use retinol as pure vitamin A?

Because it's not stable. Free vitamin A in the form of retinol is highly susceptible to oxidation by air and inactivation through ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

To reduce the photodestruction of Vitamin A, esterified forms of greater molecular complexity and technological development are developed, including: Retinyl Acetate.

Does vitamin A degrade?

Studies such as those of Rakuša et al. (2021) show that there are products that by the time their best-before date arrived had lost up to 75% of their total retinol content.

Less than 25% of the original content was left!

Retinyl acetate is more stable, and its degradation under the storage conditions established in the product means up to 90% of the original retinoid content is retained after its best-before date.

Our vitamin A has an optimal concentration guaranteed, with minimal degradation.

4000mcg or 3000mcg?

Many companies that market vitamin A declare the concentration of the ester used.

What does this mean? That they are telling you a number greater than the actual amount of vitamin A contained in their product.

This is because pure vitamin A equivalent to retinol weighs less than vitamin A esters, such as retinyl acetate.

Bulking agent (microcrystalline cellulose), retinyl acetate (vitamin A), anti-caking agents (cross-linked sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, silicon dioxide, magnesium salts of fatty acids), stabiliser (hydroxypropyl cellulose).

Once opened, store in a cool (under 25ºC), dry and dark place. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of the smallest children.
