What is Colostrum 500mg?

Colostrum 500mg by EssentialSeries is a food supplement in vegetable capsules made from bovine colostrum. 

Colostrum is a milk-derived secretion obtained from mammals during the days following birth that is nutritionally dense, with no additives.

Usually colostrums are marketed without standardisation of their bioactives, so it is impossible to know aspects of their composition.

Colostrum is standardised to Immunoglobulin G, to ensure the integrity of the product and its immune-boosting activity thanks to IgG.

Colostrum characteristics

Colostrum is a widely used food supplement.

  • It has up to 90 chemical constituents (Struff and Sprotte, 2008).
  • It also contains natively: vitamins, minerals, amino acids and proteins; proline-rich polypeptides, lactoferrins, cytokines, lactoperoxidases, and lactalbumins, among others (Thapa, 2005).

Standardised content

Colostral peptides are highly susceptible to industrial processing changes in temperature, pH of the medium and pressures.

This is why many companies market colostrums that do not contain any declaration of their content in any of their most interesting chemical constituents, it is possible that the treatment has altered their native composition to such an extent that the concentration is minimal.

 Colostrum (>30% IgG) by HSN is a colostrum in which we have used a raw material treated in a way that has preserved much of its natural content of immunoglobulins and other compounds.

A significant portion of colostrum mass is, with a safety guarantee, active Immunoglobulin G.

Suitable for vegetarians

Colostrum is a micronised product made from the first lacteal emissions of cattle after birth and is therefore not suitable for vegans, as it resembles milk to a certain degree.

However, most colostrums in capsules on the market are not suitable for vegetarians either. Why?

Because most companies use gelatines as glazing agents, and gelatines are protein polymers obtained from the processing of animal connective tissues, i.e. they are of direct animal origin.

In our product we have developed the capsules from the use of a vegetable polymer, so all the ingredients used in the development of the food supplement are free of compounds that are not permitted for vegetarians.

Colostrum is 100% suitable for vegetarian diets.
