What is Cayenne?

Cayenne by Now Foods is a food supplement based on cayenne pepper extract (Capsicum frutescens) in capsules.

Cayenne features

Cayenne is a plant of the Solaceae family, with various properties, but mainly thermogenic, that has been used for thousands of years in traditional medicine and as a spice. This ingredient originates from the tropical regions of the American continent and is also known as red pepper, chilli or aji.

In its fruit or spice state, it is characterised by its spicy taste. Its use as a spice for food became widespread in Europe following the first expeditions returning from the Americas, and it soon began to displace the use of black pepper. Cayenne pepper is rich in capsaicin, its active ingredient and the substance responsible for the pepper's spicy taste.

    Neither good nor bad. I prefer cayenne powder anyway, although for convenience the capsules are fine.
