Vegan Omega-3. The highest DHA content
Vegan Omega-3 Algae Oil 1000mg from EssentialSeries is a dietary supplement in vegetable softgels made from pure natural algae oil of the genus Schizochytrium, species certified for naturally having the highest possible DHA content.
Omega-3 fatty acids are nutrients that need to be consumed through diet, since although the body can synthesize EPA and DHA from ALA intake, this conversion is estimated to be insufficient, so dietary supplementation with these fatty acids is considered appropriate in practically all Western diet contexts.
Also, this product is encapsulated in vegetable softgels to provide a 100% vegan omega-3, both in its source oil and presentation format.
How can vegan omega-3 exist? We’ll tell you
Originating from algae. Schizochytrium species
The omega-3 we consume in our diet worldwide, except for Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA), is of animal origin, and is mainly concentrated in oily fish, which must be cooked properly (steamed, for example) to avoid oxidation and spoilage of their omega-3s.
The belief that vegan DHA doesn’t exist is widespread, and many people starting vegan diets suffer from nutritional deficiency of this essential fatty acid after a few months of restricting animal-based foods.
This doesn’t have to be the case, since there is a genus of algae called Schizochytrium that are naturally rich in Docosahexaenoic Acid.
These microalgae are grown under controlled conditions of time, temperature, pH, and air exposure, in a liquid culture medium containing the nutrients needed for their growth. The water used for cultivation is food-grade and verified free of marine biotoxins and contaminants.
Quality controls and evaluations of the microalgae cultivation, as well as the rest of the product manufacturing process, are overseen by top international quality certifications, ensuring every step is optimized to obtain the highest quality DHA-rich oil.
Guaranteed DHA content. The most exclusive final omega-3
Oils, both animal and plant-based, have variable amounts of their fatty acids depending on many factors, such as cultivation conditions of each microalgae batch.
Given the extremely controlled cultivation conditions under which the microalgae used for our vegan omega-3 grow, DHA content is guaranteed at 40% in all production batches of this dietary supplement.
Also, don’t let other companies fool you!
Our vegan omega-3 guarantees a REAL 40% DHA content, measured by mass, so each 1000mg algae oil softgel provides 400mg of Docosahexaenoic Acid.
Other manufacturers who claim a fatty acid percentage measure it by volume of the softgels, which gives a value that is not real and is lower than stated, so the actual percentage is between 5 and 15% less. Don’t pay for what you don’t consume!
At HSN we guarantee with full confidence that the indicated content is exactly what you get.
We’re completely transparent in our procedures and information provided.
With plant-based coating agent. No gelatins
Softgels are usually made with coating agents derived from gelatins because they’re cheap and effective, but gelatins have a problem: they’re animal-derived.
How are we going to make vegan omega-3 oil softgels with gelatin softgels?
There are little-known coating agents derived from starch, like the one we use in our product.
These softgels aren’t widely used in the industry because besides being more expensive to produce, handling procedures require delicate treatment to keep them in good condition until the end of manufacturing, and unfortunately many labs don’t know how to do this.
At HSN we follow a strict chain of custody for the vegan softgels, controlling all relevant environmental exposure factors, so the vegan softgels maintain their original retention strength intact, ensuring the best containment of the algae oil and guaranteed quality.
Provides a high concentration, perfect for vegan diets without animal consumption
The 400mg DHA per softgel is significant. It provides a high daily dose of omega-3, which is especially great for vegan diets, since omega-3 intake is extremely low, and DHA intake is basically nonexistent.
Not only that, people who consume oily fish only occasionally, due to personal taste or allergies, can greatly benefit from supplementing their diet with this product, as it’s plant-based and provides what they don’t get from their usual diet.
No colorants or opacifiers. Transparent softgels just like us!
Many manufacturers add large amounts of additives to their products, which we think is unnecessary, because... why?
We don’t need to hide anything, our algae oil is ultra-pure, clean, and contaminant-free, transparent-yellowish with an oily appearance, just as it should be.
We don’t use colorants in the composition, nothing that would prevent you from properly seeing the softgel contents, because you as a consumer have the right to know exactly what you’re taking. And at HSN we want you to have full peace of mind knowing you’re only using the best.
Easy to take, soft coating easy to swallow, and high concentration
Softgels can sometimes be hard to swallow, but not here.
Although they’re not small, you only need to take one softgel a day, so it’s easy.
Plus, thanks to the soft exterior of the softgel, it’s easy to swallow, no hassle, just a little water to take it down, and you’ve got a solid DHA boost in your daily diet.
Guaranteed content of maximum purity, verified integrity, and free of contaminants
HSN’s algae oil omega-3 fatty acids are presented as natural triglycerides, which absorb much better than ethyl esters, and are... natural, chemically unaltered, so they’re better.
All algae oil we produce is analyzed and verified to be optimal; thanks to our thorough quality control, our products are top quality, guaranteeing clean algae oil without oxidation of fatty acids, providing clean, undegraded omega-3s. Completely free of marine contaminants.
Enjoy the purest vegan omega-3s available in HSN’s plant-based omega-3 supplement.
Omega-3s are essential nutrients
Among the omega-3s we can consume daily, we find ALA, EPA, and DHA.
In that order, Alpha-Linolenic Acid converts into EPA, Eicosapentaenoic Acid, and this in turn converts into DHA, Docosahexaenoic Acid, the final product of the conversion considered the 'most important Omega-3'.
- Docosahexaenoic acid contributes to maintaining normal brain function.1
- Docosahexaenoic acid contributes to maintaining normal vision.1
For these reasons, and because it’s the final product of a long conversion chain that starts from ALA intake and is difficult, DHA is considered a fatty acid whose direct dietary supplementation is very beneficial for Western populations who typically don’t consume large daily amounts of oily fish.
Ideal for pregnant women. Find out why
Omega-3s are excellent nutrients for pregnant women, since DHA is a fatty acid that when consumed in amounts of at least 250mg daily by pregnant or breastfeeding women, contributes to the normal development of the eyes of the fetus and breastfed infant.
Often, fish and derivatives are not allowed foods during pregnancy, making intake of this fatty acid complicated.
Enjoy a high intake that covers daily DHA needs, with HSN’s vegan omega-3 supplement, no fish or shellfish, just algae from controlled cultivation completely safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Other suitable use profiles. Who is it recommended for?
Not only pregnant women can use this supplement. It’s ideal for:
- People seeking the positive effects of DHA on vision and brain. Therefore, it’s widely used by students and office workers.
- Vegans whose omega-3 fatty acid intake typical of these diets is insufficient.
- People following diets with sub-optimal omega-3 fatty acid intake due to low oily fish consumption.
Anyone transitioning to strict vegetarianism should include a plant-based omega-3 supplement in their daily diet.
What can it be combined with?
Vegan Omega-3 can be combined with all kinds of dietary supplements, no known restrictions with any other product.
Some ideal recommendations are important nutrients for pregnancy and vegetarianism such as folic acid or vitamin B12, both found in the product Metil B9+B12 in active forms of the highest quality and bioavailability.
Other recommendations include:
- For athletes using omega-3 after training, Evorecovery is an excellent formula to improve recovery.
- For people who don’t control their diet and don’t know their possible deficiencies: Evovits Plus+.
- For people seeking omega-3’s positive effects on vision: natural Lutein + Zeaxanthin.
- For students using DHA for its brain effects: Evobrain.

Excellent omega 3
Agua cate 10/10/2021
DHA has protective effects, since in addition to being part of brain membranes, it is converted into Neuroprotectin D1 (NPD1), a docosanoid with anti-inflammatory properties at the brain level and which regulates neuron apoptosis. This effect of DHA is being studied in neurodegenerative diseases and especially in Alzheimer's disease. Its consumption can help us to improve our cognitive performance and is especially indicated in old age to delay neuronal aging. The higher the proportion of EPA in the omega 3 less DHA we absorb, however, the opposite is not true because, when we take a high purity DHA, a part of it is transformed into EPA, in an amount dependent on the dose of DHA For all this I had been looking for an omega 3 that had only DHA and this is also vegan!!!!

Good amount per capsule, however, it would be better if it had EPA in addition to DHA.

Very good for a vegan Omega 3
Lucie 04/07/2025
It is a pity that it does not reach 60% of Omega 3 so that they can put the IFOS seal on it. It only has one type of Omega 3 (DHA), but it is not bad for a vegan. Definitely recommended if you want to avoid consuming fish at all costs.
