Properties of vitamins for pregnancy
Prenatal Care (Iodine-Free) provides you with the vitamins your body needs during pregnancy and also supplies important nutrients such as choline, docosahexaenoic acid and a wide range of minerals.
Some of its most notable functions include contributing to:
- The maintenance of normal bones, an effect attributed to vitamin K.
- The maintenance of normal skin, an effect attributed to vitamin B2.
- The growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy, an effect attributed to folate.
- The normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin, an effect attributed to iron.
- Normal thyroid function, an effect attributed to selenium.
With vegan DHA. A key nutrient
In addition to all the vitamins and minerals of recognised quality in Prenatal Care Iodine-Free, its citicoline and its standardised Tagetes extract, this multivitamin and multimineral formula stands out for one key nutrient used during pregnancy:
Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)
Any pregnant woman will be familiar with DHA, as doctors commonly recommend its use due to its important nutritional properties. DHA is the final omega-3 fatty acid in the metabolic conversion pathway of ALA and EPA.
During pregnancy, DHA intake, already important in itself, also becomes essential for the baby, as:
- Maternal intake of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the normal development of the eye of the foetus and breastfed infants1.
Why buy Prenatal Care (Iodine-Free)
Prenatal Care (Iodine-Free) is the ultimate formula for obtaining the micronutrients required during pregnancy.
Premium compounds
Prenatal Care (Iodine-Free) has been developed using the best forms of vitamins and minerals, including:
- Methylated vitamins (such as Methyl-B9 or Methyl-B12). These are active forms that do not require conversion processes and are therefore more efficient.
- Forms with greater absorption (such as Vitamin D3 rather than D2). Scientific studies have shown this form to be more effective as a source of vitamin D at the same dosage.
- Completely safe nutrients (such as Beta-Carotene). This is a precursor form of Vitamin A, which is necessary for the health of both mother and baby but can be dangerous in high amounts during pregnancy. Beta-carotene is the form recommended by medical experts because it is completely safe.
- Citicoline or CDP-Choline, one of the most widely recognised forms in nutritional science for providing the important nutrient choline. No choline tartrates!
- Chelated minerals (such as iron (Ferrochel®), zinc (Albion® Minerals) and copper). All of them are provided in chelated bisglycinate forms.
Iodine-Free. Compatible with all types of diets
During pregnancy, particularly in cases where the pregnant woman has previously required medical consultations regarding the thyroid gland, a doctor may recommend following a low-iodine diet.
The standard version of Prenatal Care contains iodine, as it is an important nutrient for thyroid function. However, we have developed a separate iodine-free formula so that any pregnant woman can benefit from all the properties of the most complete multivitamin developed by HSN.
Prenatal Care does not cure, treat or prevent diseases, so you should consult your doctor before use if you have any condition requiring specialist medical attention.
Prenatal Care does not contain iodine and is compatible with low-iodine diets.
Microencapsulated lutein for maximum stability
Tagetes is a plant known for the high concentration of xanthophylls found in its flowers, including lutein and zeaxanthin.
This is why it is used as a source of these compounds. However, in our multivitamin we have used a microencapsulated version to ensure maximum stability of the lutein and the other carotenoids, which are highly susceptible to degradation.
Patented raw materials
Balchem is a well-known manufacturer recognised for developing its 'fully chelated minerals', which ensure the greatest possible absorption and outstanding quality throughout the manufacturing process. These minerals are registered under the Albion® Minerals brand:
In Prenatal Care you will find Ferrochel® Iron (Albion® Minerals):
And Albion® Minerals Zinc:
In addition to Albion® Minerals, all the other ingredients used in the development of Prenatal Care Iodine-Free are of the highest quality, with raw materials that meet all the relevant safety and efficacy certification requirements.
HSN's Prenatal Care (Iodine-Free) has been developed with the finest selection of premium-quality ingredients!
