Flaxseed Oil Powder - A Healthy Ingredient
Flaxseed Oil Powder from Essentialseries is a food developed with the latest technological advances, made from a top-quality natural source: flaxseed oil obtained through mechanical, first cold pressing processes.
Flax is a well-known plant in nutrition because its seeds are very rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). These seeds are used as food on their own, added to many recipes and preparations like yogurts, for example, but its oil is also extracted for cooking, especially for raw use since it’s not suitable for heating.
This powdered format is perfect to nutritionally boost tons of recipes, with the benefits of optimal oil preservation, no degradation, and no flavor.
A high-quality oil powder to take care of your daily nutrition!
Like natural oil but without flavor and degradation
Extracted from flax seeds by first cold pressing
Flax treatment is delicate because due to its high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, if heated or treated with acidic agents (common practices in the supplement industry to get the cheapest raw material possible), it spoils.
To truly get a high-quality flaxseed oil, mechanical pressing treatment is necessary, meaning the flax seed is crushed so it naturally releases its oil; along with processing conditions based on a cold environment, which is ideal.
Many companies don’t guarantee this because it involves economic and resource costs related to the effort and care of the plant that they’re not willing to take on.
At HSN we only use the best raw materials possible, which is why we guarantee that our flaxseed oil comes from the first pressing of the whole seed, processed in a cold environment, without heating or temperature treatment.
We get a pure, virgin flaxseed oil, with all its natural omega content of the highest nutritional quality.
Microencapsulation treatment at cold temperature. No degradation
Another delicate step in making powdered oils is converting the oily form into powder.
For this, many companies use oil-capturing agents and spray drying, preparing a kind of freeze-drying. This is terrible for the oil, causing its omega-3 content to oxidize significantly and ending up with more problems than benefits for its use as a functional food.
At HSN we microencapsulate the oil, meaning we don’t alter it; we fraction the oil into microdroplets coated in tiny particles, so inside each one is the original oil with all its properties intact.
Unlike other manufacturers, our microencapsulation system is done at the oil processing plant, in temperature-controlled rooms, following procedures that don’t raise the temperature and therefore don’t negatively affect its positive properties.
Powder format made without allergens. Contains no dairy or gluten flours
Among the few options of microencapsulated oils on the market, the most chosen treatments by manufacturers are: using caseins or wheat flours or directly gluten to make the microparticles. This has an obvious problem: they are allergenic ingredients.
Our oil is made with a corn derivative, free of Genetically Modified Organisms, and contains no allergens like gluten or dairy.
An oil suitable for vegan diets and free of allergens.
Use it whenever and however you want with total peace of mind!
Provides a broad spectrum of highly concentrated essential omega-3 + omega-6 fatty acids and contains omega-9
Flax is a seed very rich in n- (omega) series fatty acids.
Although it’s known for its omega-3 fatty acid content, it doesn’t only contain plant omega-3; its supply of essential omega-6 fatty acids and omega-9s is also highly valued.
| Fatty acid | Content per 100g of product |
| Alpha-linolenic acid ALA (Omega-3) | 27700 mg |
| Linoleic acid (Omega-6) | 7150 mg |
| Oleic acid (Omega-9) | 9000 mg |
Flaxseed oil powder provides 28% of its total content in ALA, 7% in LA, and 9% in OA. A complete spectrum of omega fatty acids with high nutritional quality!
Properties of the omegas in flax oil
The properties of flax oil come from its fatty acid composition:
- Alpha-linolenic acid contributes to maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 2 g of this fatty acid.
Linoleic acid has this same property when consumed daily at a rate of at least 10 g.
And in general:
- Replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats in the diet helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. Oleic acid is an unsaturated fat.
A complete spectrum of healthy fats for managing blood cholesterol!
How do I use it in my kitchen?
Flaxseed oil powder can be used for emulsions, it’s suitable for making fat-based sauces since it mixes better than regular oils, just like when preparing vinaigrettes, for example.
Still, one of the most common uses is using it raw in soups, creams, and purees.
You just need to add a heaping tablespoon on top of a serving to provide a significant amount of essential fatty acids.
Anyway, your imagination is the limit. Baking with flaxseed oil? Who says no!
Who is flax oil recommended for?
Given the cholesterol-related properties of the fatty acids in flaxseed oil, it’s a suitable food for people who follow diets low in fish, nuts, and seeds.
It’s also highly recommended for people who consume a high amount of animal fats, for example, those who cook with butter or eat large amounts of red meat.
It’s ideal to combine with other products aimed at cholesterol control like Red Yeast Rice + CoQ10 or Plant Sterols.

It is effective, but I can't handle the taste
Yam 15/02/2025
I have a high tolerance for peculiar flavors, but this one has surpassed me. And not just the taste, the texture it takes on when mixed with any liquid.... However, I still advocate that as long as the effects are positive, the taste is secondary.

I like to sprinkle it on food or sometimes mix it with sautéed vegetables, it has a fruity taste and when you add it to food, it doesn't get grainy, it dissolves well.
