What is Pea Protein Isolate 2.0?
Pea protein isolate 2.0 by EssentialSeries is a flavoured or unflavoured food preparation in powder form, based on 100% vegetable protein isolate from pea protein.
Peas are a protein source widely used by vegetarians due to their near-perfect protein digestibility (Berrazaga et al., 2019).
Why take Pea Protein Isolate 2.0?
Pea protein is a product that is one of the top choices of high-protein plant foods to supplement the nutrition of a vegan or an athlete looking to gain more muscle mass without consuming animal protein.
Pea protein, thanks to the physico-chemical properties of the seeds, is considered by many consumers to be the most textured protein of all sources.
A vegetable protein isolate powder, made solely from peas, is a protein source that has a high capacity to attract water molecules, allowing smoothies to become thicker and more palatable, similar to a casein.
Pea protein, an incomplete protein?
Peas are a high-protein feed, however, it has always been established that cereals should be used in addition to peas to supplement the amounts of methionine required to maximise protein synthesis, as peas are an incomplete source of protein because they lack these amino acids (Gil, 2010).
Thanks to the isolation process of our pea protein, although it is true that the amounts of methionine are lower (as they are naturally lower in the seeds themselves), they have been concentrated to such an extent that one serving is enough to trigger an anabolic response similar to proteins of higher biological value such as whey.
Babault et al. (2015) conducted a 12-week study in young, healthy, strength-training adults and found that the use of whey or pea protein isolate meal preparations led to the same gains in muscle mass, with no differences between groups.
The researchers showed that regardless of the food source, when the food source was treated to maximise protein isolation, both produced the same effects on body composition.
Pea protein in sports performance
Many athletes are concerned about the consumption of plant-based proteins, as we know that animal-based proteins are generally nutritionally superior.
However, there is currently no solid evidence to show that this principle can also be applied in food preparations.
In fact, studies show that consuming the same amount of net protein for 8 weeks produces improvements in muscle strength, power and anaerobic performance with no difference between whey and pea protein isolate (Banaszek et al., 2019).
Why in HSN?
At HSN we use high quality raw materials for the production of our food supplements. We use peas that have been cultivated under optimal conditions for their growth and development with the best possible nutritional composition.
Our product contains 100% pure pea protein isolate as the only ingredient, with no additives that reduce the protein content of the product, providing 84% protein per serving.
We have analyses carried out by an accredited external laboratory with certifications from national bodies on the veracity and accuracy of the determination of the content of our products.
Because we want you to have all the information you need, because HSN accompanies you in your day to day life!
How to take Pea Protein Isolate 2.0?
Mix one scoop in 150-250ml of water or skimmed milk to make one serving. Consume as many servings as required to meet your nutritional needs.
Which products combine Pea Protein Isolate 2.0 with?
You can combine this product with other proteins such as Brown rice protein concentrate, an easy and simple way to complement both products to balance your aminogram.
You can also use L-leucine, from plant sources, and extracted from a natural fermentation process that can enhance the anabolic effect of proteins.
What are you waiting for? With HSN you get quality protein at the best price!
