Liposomal Vitamin B12 - High absorption active form
Liposomal Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) (Liposovit®) (500mcg Vitamin B12) from EssentialSeries is a food supplement made from the active form of vitamin B12 (cobalamin) as methyl- (methylated form) cobalamin. In a liposomal presentation to ensure greater protection, stability, and therefore overall bioavailability of the nutrient.
Vitamin B12 is a nutritionally essential vitamin, and the human body needs it to maintain the proper functioning of systems such as energy, nervous, liver, and haematological health. Vitamin B12 in its active form of methylcobalamin is an excellent way to ensure an adequate supply of this important vitamin. It is important to note that the vegan population needs dietary supplementation as there are no significantly concentrated plant sources of active vitamin B12.
HSN's liposomal vitamin B12 offers a significant improvement over other B12 vitamins, not only due to its active methylated form but also because of the liposomisation that protects the vitamin.
Liposomal Vitamin B12 - A superior presentation
Liposovit®, intellectual property of the Polish developer Bart
Liposomisation is a process in which lipid vesicles, called liposomes, are formed, which are an excellent way to protect vitamins, as they can be retained in different sections of these vesicles to avoid contact with the external environment that can degrade them.
The conditions of the liposomisation preparation process vary depending on the R&D team in charge, but generally, they share the lipid preparation, hydration of the lipid film, and sonication/extrusion for extraction.
Bart is a Polish manufacturer that has patented a unique liposomisation system that guarantees the integrity of the liposomal vesicle walls, ensuring the following unique features of the patent:
Guaranteed stability | Room temperature storage |
Intact liposomes | Non-GMO and allergen-free |
Liposovit® is considered the reference raw material for the quality of liposomal nutrients at an international level.
Intact liposomes: Guarantees of intact liposomisation
One of the main problems in the treatment of vitamins and minerals, as well as other nutrients such as liposomes, is that these structures, if not properly developed, are easily degradable.
A degraded liposome, one that has a broken lipid layer wall, does not adequately protect the vitamin in the hydrophilic environment inside, thus losing its superior properties compared to standard presentations of the same vitamin.
This is where Liposovit® becomes a superior option, thanks to development guarantees that certify the integrity and complete protection of the nutrients contained within its liposomes.
A liposomal vitamin that does not require refrigeration
Many liposomal vitamins, to maintain their intact liposomes, require refrigeration. The main problem with this is that logistical difficulties can cause the cold chain to break, negatively affecting the protective conditions of the liposomal vitamin. Additionally, storing vitamin bottles in the fridge rather than on a pantry shelf or in a cupboard is impractical for the user.
Liposovit® has prepared its liposomes in ambient temperature environments, ensuring the maintenance of their intact structure without the need for refrigeration.
Simply store it with your other supplements; it doesn't require special storage considerations. More convenient and practical.
500mcg of vitamin B12 per capsule - Adapt it to your needs!
The minimum daily recommended amount of vitamin B12 to avoid nutritional deficiencies is as low as 2.5mcg.
However, vitamin B12 is completely safe, and there is no defined daily limit by the European Food Safety Authority at which cobalamin poses any danger from consumption.
Supplements with methylcobalamin are very concentrated, often ranging from 500 micrograms to 5000-10000 micrograms. All these dosages are safe.
However, some people adjust the consumption of these products. It is very common among vegans to use doses of 500 micrograms two, three, or more times per week.
HSN's liposomal methylcobalamin is designed for daily use; however, if you consider adjusting it (and know your specific vitamin B12 requirements), you can space out the doses several days apart.
An essential vitamin for vegans - Don't miss out!
Dietary plans based entirely on plant foods, those that are 100% vegan, do not contain vitamin B12, as this vitamin is primarily present in animal foods, especially in meats, where the muscle fibres of red meat animals retain the supplementary vitamin B12 from the feed and forage of livestock species.
If you maintain a plant-based diet, you need to supplement your diet with a product rich in vitamin B12, and our liposomal option is an excellent choice, as its liposomes have been prepared following a 100% plant-based procedure, with no animal ingredients or adjuvant use in its composition.
What is vitamin B12 used for?
Vitamin B12 is essential for helping to reduce tiredness and fatigue, and it also contributes to normal red blood cell formation.
Additionally, it contributes to homocysteine metabolism, nervous system function, and proper immune system performance, among other important properties for a healthy life.
Active form of Vitamin B12. Cyan or Methyl?
Cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin are two bioavailable forms of vitamin B12.
Biologically, methylcobalamin is the active form, which is why it is preferred by many consumers, as its use does not require conversion in the body and is directly bioavailable, while cyanocobalamin is the usual fermentation form that has traditionally been used as a complementary vitamin B12, and is therefore perfectly valid, but requires metabolic conversion in the human body.
Both presentations have the same potency at equal doses, and their effects in the body do not differ from each other.
Liposomal vs Standard. Which should I choose?
Between liposomal or standard presentations of vitamins, liposomisation provides a nutritional advantage, guaranteeing maximum stability, absorption, and effectiveness, making the liposomal presentation ideal for anyone, but perfect for the vegan population, where supplementation with vitamin B12 is more 'critical'.
If you are someone with high red meat consumption, who only seeks to consume vitamin B12 to support intake that is not insufficient, you can use standard methylcobalamin.

A must if you eat little or no meat
Dani 27/05/2025
It is one of those products that you don't notice if it has an effect or if you don't notice it is precisely because it is having an effect, since a B12 deficit is a problem. I hardly eat meat, so it is essential in my diet. The capsules are small and it comes in a very concentrated dose. I recommend it.

B12
Bruno 17/04/2025
Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that plays a key role in the formation of red blood cells, the functioning of the nervous system and the production of DNA. Present mainly in animal foods such as meat, fish, eggs and dairy products, its deficiency can cause anemia, fatigue and neurological problems. It is especially important for vegans.

Good alternative to cyanocobalamin
Irene 08/03/2025
I used to take cyanocobalamin in a weekly dosage, but expanding the information I had on this vitamin, I decided to switch to a methylcobalamin. This particular product, not being a very high dose, allows me to take it daily instead of weekly. I find it more organic and better for absorption. Also, the capsules are small and easy to swallow. It would be nice to have the 250 option.

I wish I had started earlier
Sylvia 06/02/2025
I have been a vegan for many, many years. Before, the only B12 that existed was cyanocobalamin, which is what I was taking until a month ago. I was advised to take methylcobalamin in small doses every day. I used to take a larger dose twice a week and what a change! I noticed the effects right away. I have more energy.
