What is osteoporosis

A calcium deficiency in the body due to a bad diet that is low in calcium can also lead to bone diseases. This is due to the fact that we run out of calcium for the bones which has serious consequences for our bones.

One of this diseases is called osteoporosis, a systemic bone disease that mainly involves a loss of bone mass and more deterioration of the bone structure. This means that the bones become more fragile, increasing the risk of suffering fractures.

This is an asymptomatic pathology that can go unnoticed for many years until it manifests with a fracture of any of our bones.

As we have previously seen, a bad diet and a lack of physical exercise are some of the triggers for the onset of osteoporosis. This disease is more common among women and it entails a higher risk for the elderly. Moreover, it is hereditary, which means that it is advisable to control the intake of foods rich in calcium as well as using calcium supplementation.
